Help shape the future of Mundaring
What makes your community feel like home?
Is it the natural environment, the character of your town or village, the people, the local history, the places you gather, or something else entirely?
As part of the Future Mundaring journey, we're inviting residents, businesses, community groups and local stakeholders to join a series of community workshops exploring what makes our places unique and what we want the future of Mundaring to look like.
Over the coming years, the Shire will be making important decisions about housing, growth, environmental protection, public spaces, community facilities, local services and infrastructure. These workshops are an opportunity to help shape those conversations from the beginning.
We'll be exploring questions such as:
- What makes your community distinctive?
- What should be protected and preserved?
- What opportunities should we pursue?
- How can we strengthen our towns, villages and neighbourhoods?
- What do we want future generations to experience when they live, work and spend time in Mundaring?
The ideas, stories, experiences and local knowledge shared through these workshops will help inform future Place Plans and contribute to broader Future Mundaring projects and initiatives across the Shire.
Whether you've lived here for decades, recently moved to the area, run a local business, volunteer in the community or simply care about the future of Mundaring, your perspective is important.

Important Information
You do not need to attend a workshop in your local area.
Although sessions are being held across the Shire, we encourage participation from people from different suburbs and communities at every workshop. Hearing a mix of perspectives helps create richer conversations and a broader understanding of what matters across the Shire as a whole.
More Ways to Get Involved
These public workshops are just one part of the conversation.
Future Mundaring will also include targeted roundtables and focus groups with resident and ratepayer associations, heritage and environmental organisations, youth, seniors, Aboriginal community members and other community stakeholders to ensure a broad range of voices and perspectives are heard.
Why This Matters
Future Mundaring is a long-term conversation about the future of the place we live, work and play.
The decisions made over the coming years will influence how our communities grow and change, what we protect, where we invest, and how we continue to build great places for people to live, work and connect.
These workshops are one of the first opportunities to help shape that future.
