Amendment No.19 to Local Planning Scheme No.4 - Short Term Rental Accommodation

Project Overview

At its Ordinary Meeting held on 10 December 2024, Council resolved to adopt Amendment No.19 to Local Planning Scheme No.4 (LPS4) to advertise.

The purpose of Amendment No.19 is to implement recent changes made by the State Government to the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 relating to short term rental accommodation, by including relevant provisions in LPS4.

Closing date

Please ensure that submissions are made by 4:00pm on 21 March 2025.

What happens after the public comment period

Once the advertising period has concluded the Shire will review all of the submissions received. A report will then be prepared by Shire Officers for Council to consider whether to support the proposal with or without modifications.

    Stage 1 

    Local Planning Scheme amendment adopted (initiated) by Council - Completed 10 December 2024

     

    Stage 2

    Obtain consent from Western Australian Planning Commission to advertise - Completed January 2025

     

    Stage 3

    Advertise Local Planning Scheme Amendment  - Current stage

     

    Stage 4

    Council consideration as to whether to support  the Local Planning Scheme amendment with or without modifications,  having regard to any submissions received during advertising period.

     

    Stage 5

    Local Planning Scheme amendment forwarded to Western Australian Planning Commission for Minister's determination.


    Stage 6

    If approved by Minister, notice regarding decision published in Government Gazette (Local Planning Scheme amendment becomes operative).
