Proposed Aged Care Facility Building - 22 Coongan Avenue, Greenmount

Project Overview

The Shire has a received a development application for a proposed aged care facility building at 22 Coongan Avenue, Greenmount, which ultimately will be determined by the Metro Outer Development Assessment Panel.

Details of the application are the following:

  1. A two storey building of up to 10.6m in height above natural ground level is proposed.
  2. The proposed building will be located towards the south-western portion of the subject site, and replace an existing aged care facility building on the eastern portion of the subject site. It is intended that this component will be demolished once the new build is complete so residents can transfer directly to the new building on the site.
  3. The existing heritage listed Undercliffe Hospital shall remain. Restoration works are proposed.
  4. The current aged care facility building contains 47 units. The proposed building will contain 48 units.
  5. Up to 39 staff will be on site at any one time.
  6. A total of 72 car parking bays are proposed on site.

The advertising period concluded on 22 August 2025.

What happens next?

The Shire will collate and have regard to all submissions received during the advertising period, and prepare a report for the Metro Outer Development Assessment Panel (DAP) to consider when determining the application.

Once known, details regarding the DAP meeting the application is being determined at will be provided to all submitters and also on this site.
