The Shire has received a development application for Child Care Premises on 1 (Lot 505) Amherst Avenue, Darlington.

The following is a summary of the proposal:

• The proposed use 'Child Care Premises' is an 'A' use under the Shire's Local Planning Scheme No.4 (LPS4);
• The proposal can accommodate up to 80 children and 13 staff (12 educators and 1 centre manager) at any one time; and,
• Proposed works include a single-storey building with associated site works, landscaping, and a car parking area comprising 21 car and 4 bicycle parking bays.

The consultation period for this proposal concluded on 10 December 2024.

What happens after the public comment period

Once the advertising period has concluded, the Shire will review all of the submissions received and present to Council for consideration. A report will then be prepared for the Metro Outer Development Assessment Panel (DAP) to consider the proposal. All submitters will be notified as to which Council Meeting the application is being considered once the Agenda has been confirmed.
