Glen Road Darlington - Road Upgrades

Project Overview

As part of the Shire’s 2020/2021 Road and Footpath Programs , it is proposed to reconstruct Glen Road from Darlington Road to Leithdale Road addressing the road pavement failures, whilst improving on-street parking, drainage and verge treatment including new footpaths.

Background

In 2017 an investigation was undertaken by an external specialist in Pavement Construction to ascertain the extent of damage to the sub-base of Glen Rd Darlington. The outcome of this investigation was that complete rehabilitation and stabilisation of the pavement was required.

The Shire successfully applied to the Metropolitan Regional Roads Group to assist with funding for this extensive project. Road Project Grant Funding was provided on a cost sharing basis of the Shire of Mundaring contributing $1 for every $2 from the Road Project Grant fund.
