Project Overview

Council is seeking nominations for members for the Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC). This Committee provides strategic advice and information to Council on various sustainability and environmental issues. This can include protection and management of biodiversity and natural areas, and improving sustainable management of water, energy and waste across the Shire.

Formal qualifications in environmental management or related fields is not essential, as we are also looking for people with local experience and engagement with community environmental initiatives.

The Terms of Reference provide for up to 12 community members, to be appointed for a two year term (November 2019 – October 2021). Community committee members must be prepared to attend the quarterly meetings, read through agenda materials, and follow the guidance of the Chairperson in complying with meeting procedures. Please read the Terms of Reference (see Document Library to the right of the screen) before submitting your nomination.

The Committee usually meets quarterly (e.g. February, May, August and November). There may be opportunities to participate in smaller working groups focussed on particular topics, which can report back to the formal committee meetings.

The nomination form can be completed online or submitted to the Shire Administration building, 7000 Great Eastern Highway Mundaring 6073. Nomination forms must be received by 4pm on Wednesday 2 October 2019
