The Shire of Mundaring is in the process of undertaking an Aquatic Centre Feasibility Study and Business Case which is assessing the potential improvement and development options to increase the diversity of aquatic services and implications for the existing facilities in order to guide Council decision making for future investment.
Currently there are three aquatic facilities in the Shire, Bilgoman Aquatic Centre, Mt Helena Aquatic Centre and Wooroloo Swimming Pool. Both the Bilgoman and Mt Helena aquatic centres are managed and operated by the Shire while the Wooroloo facility is run independently with a limited amount of financial support annually through the Shire budget commitments. All three facilities provide a range of aquatic activities for the community on a seasonal basis. Through the assessment process, we will be exploring the feasibility to increase the aquatic service options to a twelve months of the year operation .
This includes reviewing the current facility capability, the capacity for increased usage, operational constraints and the needs of current and potential users. We are therefore seeking the views of all members of the community (current users and non-users of the aquatic facilities) to obtain your views on what improvements should be considered to the facilities and determine those elements which would be of greatest benefit to Shire residents. This may include extensions to current facilities / activities, new facilities/ activities or rationalisation to improve operational performance.
We invite you to complete the questionnaire provided to ensure that the current and future needs can be appropriately measured and planned for. This survey is intended to provide you with the opportunity to contribute to this process and should take no longer than 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
We would gratefully value your involvement in the process.
